Goal-setting for Homeschooled Teens

Why do you need to think about goal-setting? Unlike school kids, homeschoolers aren’t part of a “herd.” Our education isn’t handed to us all set up and ready to go. Successful teen homeschoolers don’t just do what we are supposed to—we do what we need to in order to achieve our own goals. When teens continue to depend on our parents to set and achieve homeschooling goals, tension can arise in the household. The teens feel—quite rightly—that it’s our education and we should get to be involved in the decision-making. But when teens haven’t learned to identify our goals and the steps needed to fulfill them, it’s hard for us to work with our parents in making educational decisions. Let’s get together and talk about how to take the lead in your education.
